 A beautifully designed traditional home on the outskirts of Berkshire presenting facing bricks and prefabricated arches.

All Brick and Stone were approached by the contractor to source facing bricks suitable for a residential building project and requested our assistance to liaise with the client and architect directly. The overall scheme required experienced knowledge of specialist facing materials to meet with the design requirements.

Initially the client was looking for a mid priced brick for the project facade, one that presented aesthetic appeal. Many samples were put forward during the process which allowed the client to view various brick colours, texture and durability. After seeing brick options from our vast range, a specific handmade brick that we had put forward in a few different colours, was eventually chosen. A particularly valuable part of the process was the visit the client, architect and contractor made to the brickworks near Colchester. Seeing the bricks firsthand and watching the traditional hand-forming process gave them the confidence to choose this product for the main house. The brick laid in the chosen bond pattern enhances the aesthetics and presents an elegant and timeless facade.

The walled garden and external walls required a more rustic façade and in this case, the brick facings were selected to achieve that rustic character to the walling, offering very traditional English elegant style.

Our team were also asked to supply all the pre-fabricated brick arches which sit above the traditional sash windows in the same brick product, complementing the overall design of the main house and brick facings.
