A beautifully designed traditional home on the outskirts of Berkshire.

In August 2020 All Brick and Stone were approached by the contractor to source bricks for the project and requested our assistance to liaise with the client and architect directly. The overall scheme required experienced knowledge of specialist facing materials to meet with the design requirements.

Initially the client was looking for a mid priced brick for the house itself. However, after seeing samples of a specific handmade product that we had put forward in a couple of colours, they eventually settled on the chosen brick. What was extremely helpful was that the client architect and contractor took time out to visit the brickworks near Colchester, to view the bricks up close and to see how they are produced as a typical hand formed brick. This cemented their choice of their product for the main house.

The walled garden and external walls required a more rustic façade and in this case, the brick facings were selected to achieve that rustic finish to the walling, offering very traditional English character.

We were also asked to supply all the pre-fabricated brick arches which sit above the traditional sash windows in the same brick choice, complementing the overall design of the main house.
